A 90 minute workshop. The fourth part of my SCALES FOR IMPROVISING series where we learn a range of scales that take you beyond blues improvisation. In this session, we will learn the MIXOLYDIAN MODE and use it to improvise around a variety of chord changes. This 'mode' (a form of scale) is famous for its playful, teasing sound. Frank Zappa used the mixolydian a great deal! You hear it in a lot of rock, traditional Irish, jazz, disco and funk music to name a few. Full guidance will be given at every stage and the tuition is step-by-step. This is exciting stuff and what playing an instrument is all about! Suitable for lower-intermediate to upper-intermediate players but all levels welcome. The whole session will be recorded for you to download. Follow-up learning material will be recommended. Come along and learn how to create your own solos and melodies!
