Start Fingerpicking for Guitarists

Welcome to the Start Fingerpicking course! The videos are self-explanatory but I've included some text just to add extra emphasis. Let's get started. Enjoy!
Right Hand Set Up
Before you begin working through the course, please watch this video on the correct right hand set up position for fingerpicking. I am being very 'correct' here but I am also teaching you the very best position. Of course, you will see players using a variety of other right hand positions - some people anchor their little finger (and even their ring finger) on the soundboard. It's not an approach I advocate but if you already do it, it may be best not to spend the great deal of time required to retrain your hand and to concentrate on moving forward with what has become natural to you. However, if you've never fingerpicked before, let's learn the very best right hand position together!
Part one
This video introduces the right hand labelling of the thumb and fingers: P = thumb, I = Index, M = middle, A = ring finger. Take some time to familiarise yourself with PIMA before moving on.
