A 5 week course of 5x1 hour sessions, Thursdays 6pm (GMT+1). We will learn and develop a range of Guitar Techniques together and apply them to some great songs. If you are tired of the same old strumming, this is a great course for you to move forward and add some variety to your playing. This is a mixed level course suitable for upper beginner to upper intermediate players. This course repeats with new songs and techniques. You will be emailed a link to a video after each session with a summary of learning points.

A 3 week course of 3x1 hour sessions, Mondays at 7pm (GMT+1). Ever wish you could pick songs up 'on the fly' and jam along? This session will help you to do just that! Based on simple 2, 3 and 4 chord songs, we will learn to recognise when chord changes are about to happen and develop our ear for chord changes. We will also learn simple systems for guessing chords in songs and practise following different rhythms and musical styles. It's all great fun. It's all about making mistakes with a smile and learning a great deal along the way! Each session will end with a run through of that week's songs and that segment will be recorded with a link sent to you so you can jam along at home between sessions. No music is required for this course. For both guitar & ukulele players.

A 90 minute workshop devoted to improving your fingerpicking. We will go through good basic technique, correct any bad habits and look at some simple tips & tricks you can apply to improve tone, accuracy and fluidity. We will explore triad chords, major scales, phrasing licks and varying rhythm. All you need to know to get started in this fantastic style of guitar which we not only hear from African artists but also in the music of bands such as Vampire Weekend and Bombay Bicycle Club. This is an introductory session to playing in this tuning with simple chord shapes and some fretboard patterns for improvising melodies, licks and flourishes. Participants should have their guitars pre-tuned to DADGAD prior to the session, there any many YouTube videos to help, otherwise you can use an electronic tuner. If you need to refresh your guitar playing, this session is just the ticket! You will be emailed a link to a video with a summary of the session's learning points just after the workshop.
